Classic Tool Design, Inc. was created to service the needs of the air
conditioning automotive after-market with specialized equipment and tools.
The company was established in 1982, with manufacturing facilities
located in Buchanan, New York. The original principals of CTD -
Sy
Herman and Ralph Edwards had over 50 years of experience in engineering, design and
manufacturing.
Manufacturing demands by the air conditioning market necessitated
expansion in 1985 to their present plant located in New Windsor, New York. With the
retirement of Mr. Herman in 1990, Ralph Edwards became the sole principal of CTD. A major
investment in high-tech machine equipment have enabled CTD to manufacture at higher
quality levels than ever before.
As the second oldest American manufacturer of automotive air
conditioning service tools, accessories and equipment, CTD has gained a reputation as a
leader in the Automotive A/C Market. There have been major changes in the industry,
due to the environmental concerns of the international community. CTD has kept abreast and
will continue to meet these vital needs, offering new and updated products and by making
new technologies available for all to profit by.
